+Daggers are fast but short range and low damage. As such they require better positioning and reactions to enemy movement to avoid getting hit.
+Rapiers have longer range, about same as swords, and are slightly slower but can compensate for that using the Hundred Kiss technique.
+Both weapons are considered daggers by the game and both are buffed by the "Dagger Experise" Yellow shard. However Daggers and Rapiers have separate Techniques, even if you master a Dagger technique you can't use it on Rapier, or vice versa.
