Writing a short guide on how to install mods, and the most common problems and how to figure them out.

Locate the folder where the game is installed. For Steam you can:

Settings (Cog) → Manage → Browse Local Files

For GOG Galaxy you can:

Settings (sliders) → Manage Install → Show Folder

If you installed it manually from GOG you can find it in windows Programs/App manager and find where it is installed from there. But usually in:

C:\Program Files\Bloodstained Ritual of the Night\

Once you found the install folder, navigate to:

\Bloodstained Ritual of the Night\BloodstainedRotN\Content\Paks\

And create a new folder, name it:

~mods

The ~ in front is important so please add it. I'll explain why later on. If you don't know how to make it, just select it from this page and copy/paste it in. The final folder should look like this:

\Bloodstained Ritual of the Night\BloodstainedRotN\Content\Paks\~mods\

Now all you need to do is add a mod to test this out. Download a mod and test that it works. To start with a simple mod that's easy to see the effects off.

Example here's a link to my MoveDrop5099 mod, it will make miriam move 50% faster, and make everything drop 100% of the time. So you'll see the effect in the first 2 rooms. https://www.nexusmods.com/bloodstainedritualofthenight/mods/98?tab=files&file_id=834

To install it, just download the file, it will be downloaded as a .rar file so you'll have to unpack it with any unpacking program like winzip or winrar etc. After unpacking it, there should be one or more .pak files, copy these (or just everything) into the ~mods folder.

Just to make that clear, the game can't read .rar or .zip files. You need to unpack them so the game can find the .pak files.

Now just start the game, start a new game, and see if it works.
